Natalie Brooks, who works at the James Paget Hospital, has been presented with the 快猫视频’s Award of Merit for the leadership and support she has shown during her time as 快猫视频 Eastern Region Board Chair and an 快猫视频 representative.
The Award of Merit, presented at the 快猫视频 Congress in Newport, is the highest honour bestowed on 快猫视频 members for service to the college.
Natalie has combined her voluntary roles with the 快猫视频 with her nursing career and a secondment within her integrated care system (ICS), as well as teaching nursing students at the University of East Anglia.
The award has recognised Natalie’s passion for amplifying members' voices and creating an inclusive environment.
She has encouraged members to engage with the 快猫视频, increasing attendance at learning events, including 快猫视频 Congress.
Having identified that internationally educated nursing professionals are often under-represented, Natalie has worked hard to support inclusivity and diversity.
Teresa Budrey, 快猫视频 Eastern Regional Director, said: “Natalie is so passionate about nursing and the role of the 快猫视频. She firmly believes members have the power to make change.
“She is seen as the trusted voice within the region and is a strong supporter of our black and ethnic minority members.
“During our campaign for fair pay for nursing staff, Natalie became a lead member for us in the Eastern region.
“She ensured the region was represented and key messages were heard during the industrial action, by visiting wards and picket lines as well as ensuring the public heard the nursing voice through speaking to the media.
“This award pays tribute to Natalie’s commitment, vigour, hard work and her ability to get the best out
